Look in the Life of First Responders

A show that I continue to watch that captured my attention when it first came out was 9-1-1.

©FilmBook

9-1-1 follows the lives of Los Angeles police officers, 9-1-1 dispatchers, paramedics, and firefighters of station 118. It shows how first responders can get emotional, mental, and physical damage from certain emergencies. The lovely Angela Basset plays Athena Grant, a field sergeant for the LAPD. This creates drama between the characters and their families as well as co-workers. I promise you guys that every episode makes me cry but maybe it is because I'm really emotional.

There is also a spin-off of the show called 9-1-1:Lone Star. It takes place in Texas and follows its first responders. It stars Rob Lowe as Captain Owen Strand of station 126.

Both shows are incredible to watch and it honestly makes me want to become a firefighter but I know that I could never.

You can watch both shows on FOX on Mondays at 8 PM and 9 PM EST or watch it the next day on Hulu.

The Fab Five in Queer Eye

If you remember the show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition or What Not To Wear, then think about both of these together and you get Queer Eye.

©InMagazine

Left to Right: Tan France, Jonathan Van Ness, Bobby Berk, Karamo Brown, and Antoni Porowski

I'm here to talk about the Netflix reboot of Queer Eye, not the original one sorry.

Queer Eye follows the Fab Five: Antoni Porowski, Tan France, Karamo Brown, Bobby Berk, and Jonathan Van Ness. They are a team of gay experts who help a "hero" better their lives in five fields. France helps with fashion, Porowski helps with food and wine, Brown helps with culture, Van Ness helps with personal grooming and Berk helps with interior/exterior home design. In each episode, there is someone new they need to help.

It currently has six seasons on Netflix. My favorite part is watching each person transform into a new and better version of themselves. The show will make you laugh, happy and also cry.

I 100% recommend it!

Sweet Magnolias

©Netflix

A show I recently fell in love with is Sweet Magnolias. Based on the books by Sherryl Woods, it premiered on Netflix back in 2020 and took over the hearts of many. It follows three lifelong friends, known as the sweet magnolias, who deal with relationship and family drama in the city of Serenity located in South Carolina. The sweet magnolias are Dana Sue Sullivan, Helen Decatur, and Maddie Townsend. Maddie is a recently divorced woman with three children, Helen is a lawyer, and Dana Sue is a chef with her own restaurant and has a daughter.

If I had to choose a show I would live in, it would be Serenity (movie-wise: New York City in the MCU). The town of Serenity is super small so gossip spreads like wildfire in seconds which adds to the drama but it is absolutely beautiful. The show brings southern charm into a new light.

(MINOR SPOILER) In its latest season, there was one plot twist that made my jaw drop.

(Serenity is actually Covington, Georgia)

Teenage Drama with a Hint of Crime Mystery

If you love drama, crime mysteries, and the country of Spain, then I got the show just for you.

ELITE

©Netflix

It all begins when three middle-class students win scholarships to a prestigious private school in Spain called Las Encinas. When one of the richer kids is murdered, a clash between rich and poor begins.

It currently has four seasons with the fifth season planning to be aired in April of 2022, only on Netflix. The one thing about this show that makes it so amazing is that there is always something new to discover each season. In all honesty, it is a very spicy show (not recommended for children under 13). What I absolutely love about this show is how the first episode of the every season shows us what happens but not until the very end do we know who did it.

Would I recommend? HELL YES. Especially if you LIVE  for the drama.💗

Modern Family: Is It the Best Sitcom? (SPOILER WARNING)

©Amazon

Modern Family was always on my radar to be the next series I watch. I began watching it on and off, but I just kept coming back to it and just recently finished watching the whole series. The show follows three families living in Los Angeles: the Dunphys', the Tucker-Pritchetts', and the Pritchetts'. At the head of the family is Jay Pritchett alongside his second wife Gloria Pritchett, his stepson, Manny, and now their first child together, Joe. It then follows Jay's daughter, Claire Dunphy. She is married to Phil Dunphy and have three children together Hailey, Alex, and Luke. The last family it follows is Jay's son Mitchell's family. Mitchell is married to Cameron Tucker and have two adopted children together, Lily and Rexford.

This show ran for 11 seasons and won many awards. The show is pure comedy especially since it is in the style of a mockumentary. You could find a character who they relate to the most because it is rich in diversity.

This is one of many shows I will always recommend if you want to laugh at every episode you watch!

I declare this to be the best sitcom that has ever been made.
